I’m creating a job application form and want to filter candidates based on specific qualifications. Can I add pre-application questions? If applicants answer positively, they move on to the full application; if not, they exit the process early to save time.

Abosolutely! You can achieve this for both web PDF forms and online PDF forms.

For web PDF forms

You have two options:

• Option 1: Use Form Logic
  With form logic, you can adjust the flow of your form based on candidates’ answers. For example:

  • Jump Question: Skip irrelevant questions.
  • Skip Page: Direct candidates to different pages based on their responses.
  • Branch Question: Show or hide follow-up questions based on previous answers.

  Choose the best way according to your specific needs so that you can filter candidates without them completing the entire form.

• Option 2: Exit form with Conditional Confirmation Messages and Redirect Links

  After candidates answer the pre-application questions, you can set up conditional confirmation messages or redirect links based on their responses. If they don’t qualify, the form can display a custom message and automatically redirect them away, preventing them from accessing the full application.

  To set this up:

  1. Go to the Submit Confirmation tab in your form settings.

     

  2. Customize the message or redirect link based on their responses.

  3. Use the Logics panel to control these outcomes based on their input.

For online PDF forms

Handling pre-application questions in online PDF forms is more complex. You can create a separate web form for the pre-application questions and use form logic to either show an exit link for unqualified candidates or a link to the full application for those who qualify.
